Celebrating a trusted organization that conserves Long Island

Established in 1983, the Peconic Land Trust works to protect over 12,000 acres of natural lands on Long Island through conservation and stewardship. These lands include farmland, meadows, woodland, dunes and wetlands. The Trust has become an authority on conservation and stewardship both locally and internationally.

Familiar was tasked with designing and developing a new website that maintained their voice of authority and highlighted the importance of the Trust’s work, but also provided a more compelling experience to the public that included easily accessible information about places to visit, news, events, and fundraising efforts.

Long Island's stunning natural beauty was showcased through drone footage that catalogues the breadth of the Trust's work

The new website provides the Trust with a flexible platform with which to engage the public. We highlighted their publicly-accessible properties, and included rich and dynamic information about them, such as directions and associated activities. We also heavily featured the several ways for the public to get involved with the Trust’s various projects and celebrated the faces behind the trust to make it clear who to contact.

Brand Refresh

We maintained the Trust’s existing logo, finessed their existing color palette, developed a new type language with their gracious type sponsor Hoefler & Co., and created a new icon system that the Trust can update internally as needed.
